Dear Neighbor,

Hi, I’m Jason, and I am proud to represent Michigan's 23rd District in the House of Representatives. I am working hard each and every day for the people of our great state —and I hope you will be part of our campaign!

​

I grew up in a small town in Northern Michigan, with just nine restaurants, two motels, and a locally famous cheese company. My father was a commercial fisherman and my mother was a school lunch aide. Through part-time work, along with state and federal aid, I became the first in my family to graduate from college. I understand the challenges Michigan’s forgotten towns and working families face, because I’ve lived both myself.

I ran to put my lived experience to work. I’ve seen firsthand that government has the ability to help people. The ability to change lives. The ability to build strong communities, support families, and invest in our children’s future. In Lansing, I am focused on helping improve lives across our community. 

 

For too long, our state legislature has worked against our community’s—and Michigan’s—best interests. Through discriminatory voter suppression laws and attacks on our democracy, our legislature has embraced Trumpism and hyperpartisanship over the needs of hard-working Michigan families. It’s time for that to change.

Now, more than ever, we need progressive and effective voices in Lansing. 

​

I promise that I will tirelessly fight for a Michigan that works for everybody. No matter your race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability status, or socioeconomic status, you should be able to thrive in our beautiful state.

 

​But change never happens alone.
